A question has been on my mind for a few days now. If before our solar system was formed and all it was, was a cloud of dust, ice, and gas, how did the gas stay there. Gasses expand to fill their containers, and because space is empty, would the particles of gas not just "fly away?" There is nothing to hold them all together, so would they not just separate completely from the other particles of gas? If anyone has an answer, I would appreciate a response. Thank you.
