Came out to a friend of mine recently.
His response was "why the hell do I need that information?"
Followed by "I've got nothing against gays, but do you want me to be afraid of you?"
(as if I was going to rape him or something)
I just told him that I thought I could trust him, but apparently that was not a good enough reason for him. (Besides, what reason could I have for coming out, anyway?)
He is now convinced that I'm going to go around flirting with random guys, and that somehow my behaviour is going to magically change (even though I've known that I'm gay for about 3 years without anyone noticing).
He then told me that he's going to pretend that this conversation never happened.
(Luckilly enough, he promised me that he's going to keep his his mouth shut about it).
Not exactly a bad experience, but awkward as hell. I come out to someone that has known me for years, and suddenly I'm a completely different person to them. Made me feel horrible.
Has anyone here been in a similar situation?
