When I was 16, i knew I wanted to date a guy. In fact, there are records on this discussion board of my past; hopes, goals, experiences, etc. When I finally moved to South Carolina in pursuit of a bachelors degree, meeting people was effortless. I lived alone, i started throwing parties at my campus owned apartment and met friends, through friends, eventually leading to more than just friends.
But moving to Georgia at 22 to start grad school, my focus now was to get a real college education this time around. No matter what your professors say, just because Communication may be the 'fastest growing major' at your university, doesn't guarantee it a fastest growing anything in the professional world. So, now my focus is Sound Design -- with greater potential, i hope.
Now that i've grown up a little bit, meeting people is twice as difficult. Parties come and go like calendar holidays, and the likelihood of making friends with people outside your projects/department is minimal.
Flash forward: Let's add a month long holiday leaving a kid broke with no bank account, forced to reside in one's parents house for the span of the break. That bachelor bedroom is no longer where you are, for potential dates... But, Grindr is.
How many people have regarded this app as more than just a hook-up sham? I feel dirty just starting a conversation on it, and not in the good way. I need some tips on conversation starters when i'm in public. Nothing striking as 'i'm interested immediately' but friendly at first.
