So my home is typical UK urban semi-detached house which means there is a small front garden, maybe 5 or 6 meters at the most, fronting onto the street. It's a fairly busy road not too far from the town centre and on one of the main bus routes.
When we sit in our front room, not sure how this would be described elsewhere in the world, lounge maybe, sitting room, anyway our main downstairs room where the TV is etc., anyone walking past on the pavement can see in if they choose to look. In the past some people would have put net curtains up, can't see us doing that, or maybe venetian blinds
I don't really like that. It's easier in the winter because when it's dark the curtains are closed earlier.
We're more lucky with the back garden, sure some of the neighbours can see in, especially from their upstairs windows, but it's screened off from the road and feels much more private. It's not like I do naked sunbathing anyway.
So how is it for other people? Are you overlooked, can people see in through your windows?
