A lawyer from Tennessee is seeking damages against Apple because it makes devices that can display porn. He says that the fact that he had access to porn on his Apple products led to his divorce and caused him to fall into a depression that required hospitalization. His complaint is 50 pages long and you can read it here (and I recommend it - its is unintentionally hilarious).

The very first point of his 30 point introduction is shown here:

If you don't feel like reading it, I have summarized it here.
Facts:

3. If Apple agrees to sell all its devices "on safe mode" (meaning all access to porn is blocked) he will drop the lawsuit. 5. All work needed to access porn should be done by those wanting porn and it should take no work to block porn. 6. Porn is addicting and poisonous and Apple knows this or should know it and Tennessee has laws against it. 8. Apple better listen or he will have to show porn in open court. 10. He is a victim because his MacBook did not come with a porn warning label. 11. PATRIOTISM! 'Cus America is all about Judeo-Christian values. 13. Apple knows the web is "rife with pornography" but it sells devices with Safari pre-installed. 16. Online porn = 'Arousal addictions'. 19. Gun makers do not ship guns pre-loaded with bullets so Apple should not ship devices pre-loaded with the tools needed to access porn. 20. Apple's female employees probably would like the porn blocked. 22. Porn ruins marriages so Apple creates orphans. 23. Apple is stopping great married sex by making porn available. 28. Apple should work with the FBI to permanently block hook-up sites that could be used to foster prostitution. 30. Kill snakes by cutting off its head. Porn is the snake and devices are the head. 40. The dude misspelled "facebook.com" and ended up on "fuckbook.com" and was forced to see porn and that addicted him. 42. "Cyber beauties" are hotter than his wife. 43. Before buying a Macbook he had never seen a pornographic image. 49. Nobody at the Apple store warned him his Macbook was a gateway to porn addiction and the rewiring of his brain. 52. Installing porn filters is harder than Googling "hardcore porn" so Apple should do it at the factory. 53. 37% of all websites contain porn. 54. Apple should be treated like a bartender selling booze to kids. 56. Access to online porn has created: lots of Viagra commercials, more homosexuals, more prostitution than their used to be, and child porn "was unheard of" before the Internet. 57. Because children. 58. Because women. 59. Men cannot help themselves and Apple knows it so its their fault. 61. Online porn made him like girls who are younger and more beautiful than his wife. 62. Online porn is worse than "traditional" porn. 63. Most sex criminals got their start by seeing porn. 64. Forcing Apple to install porn filters would help the "traditional" porn economy. 65. Free online porn is costing the government money they would collect in sales tax on "traditional" porn. 66. Cigarette makers cannot market to kids so Apple should not sell devices that can be used to market porn to Apple customers. 68. It is Apple's job to block porn and not porn maker's job to prevent access. 69. Pre-Internet porn buyers had to go out in buy porn and the shame factor stopped people from buying porn. 72. Men like him cannot stop themselves so Apple needs to. 74. Making porn should stay legal because its part of "being human". 77. If McDonald's can be sued for causing obesity then Apple can be for causing porn addition. 80. Apple would save countless marriages by blocking porn. 83. Accessing porn is using Apple's products "as it was intended." 86. 13% of all Internet searches are for porn and Apple knows it. 89. Apple intentionally did not warn him his Macbook would addict him to porn. 95. DANGER!!! Macbooks can go online right out of the box. 107. Apple's inclusion of Safari is negligent and recklessly dangerous.
Demands:

1. The court stop all sale of Apple devices until they install porn blockers.
2. Apple donate to anti-porn addiction and sex-trafficking groups.
3. Pay the dude $75,010 to cover his losses related to Apple getting him addicted to porn.
4. Apple issue a public statement about the dangers of viewing porn online.

-----------------------------------------

I have no doubt that this guy has a porn problem, but REALLY?? This is just crazy.

He wants all Apple devices to have porn-filters that need a password to bypass and the only way to get the password is to contact Apple and prove you are over 18.

Am I the only one who understands that Safari is only useful for viewing HTML documents on the machine without an Internet connection? How is this Apple's problem instead of say Comcast or Charter?
