Recently, our family's healthcare plan was changed by our dad's work. Originally, we had a moderately priced plan that was very affordable. Despite being a private health care plan, it covered nearly every single health problem we encountered. A simple phone call was all we needed to get our medical bills covered.
Yesterday, we found out that our health care program would no longer be the same. After reading through the legal papers, we discovered that not only would less be covered, but we'd actually have to pay more. How much more? Around double. We also discovered that because of the beautiful health care reform bill, we'd also be forced to attend 3 check-ups a year and count our steps for about a week. If we miss a checkup or if we refuse to count our steps for that week, they will deduct points from our record. The less points we have, the less we're covered for. To my family, it's become evident that the original private health care program we became accustomed to functioned way smoother than the new "public" health care program.
I'll clear this up for you guys... my family doesn't actually have Obama care. We still have our old private health care service, but with stricter state and federal regulations. The regulations they've imposed on insurance agencies are hurting everybody. I've read numerous stories of families who have sunk financially because they couldn't afford to pay their insurance costs. I'm not talking about medical costs, I'm talking about insurance costs.
Luckily for my family, we are still able to afford our insurance bills. Some families are not so lucky. Here are some more stories: Families Hurt By ObamaCare Share Their Stories | RedState
