Hello I have returned to, once again, complain about opposite sex.
Context:
During the school year (it's summer now) a guy messaged me straight out of the blue on facebook and we began talking. This slowly turned into snapchat, and then texting. Whether this is flirting or just wanting to be friends, I'm not sure; though I would assume the first because you know, it's highschool.
We've been talking a lot lately. However, during the last couple days of school he would try to dodge eye contact and saying hello, which I thought was very strange. I chalked this up to him being shy.
Problem:
On snapchat, there is this score which tells you how many people you've snapchatted. You can see others' scores and their 'best friends', which are people they snapchat the most. His 1st best friend is another girl at school, who it seems like he snapchats a lot, and that he has been doing so for a while. His second is me. One time he had a third best friend on snapchat who was also a girl. Yesterday I noticed that he had been snapchatting her until a certain time, and then once he stopped talking to her, he started talking to me. I think he does this a lot, since we mostly talk in the later hours. I thought this was kind of offensive and strange, so I didn't answer his snapchat. Was this rude? Is it normal for guys to do this kind of thing?
Note: he never says anything sexual in his conversations or anything like that. We just talk normally. I'm just afraid that he's using me as a kind of ego boost (you know, constantly switching in between talking to girls just to get attention) versus someone that he would like to be friends with or get to know better or date. I'm not sure myself if I have a crush or if just really want a friend...
