I don't know if I'm ready for a long-term relationship, and I'm in one...

Hi,

I'm sorry about how long this is gonna be, but please bear with me I need help.

I've been in a relationship with a guy for over a year and a half now. That's pretty long-term right? We've been living together since we met because at the time he was looking for an apartment and I let him stay at mine (we were already together at the time). We've even moved places twice and have just moved into a bigger place in the city center as a long-term apartment because we're fed up of moving every year. We picked it because it fits in with our future projects (has a separate bedroom, a place where he can stock his equipment for work, a room where I can draw (I'm going to do a graphic design degree)). We've pictured ourselves together in it, picked paint colours, furniture, etc. but I don't know if I'm ready.

He's my first boyfriend, and I'm worrying I'm missing out. Relationships suck. When you're not in one, you desperately want to be in one, and when you are in one, you'd rather not (unless you're ready). The thing is, I love him. I really do. And if I were to dump him not only would it break his heart, it would break mine too. The problem is I'm still "looking at the menu" if you get what I mean, and he's not. He wants it to last forever, and I'm having second thoughts but I haven't told him that. I'm young, I've never been in a relationship before this, and he has.

TL;DR : I'm in a big dilemma and don't know what to do. I love this guy I've been with for a year and a half, but sometimes I wish I was with someone else (not for any particular reason).

What do you think? What should I do? :/
