my boyfriend asked another guy for naked pictures

recently i saw my boyfriends text messages between he and a straight guy (we're gay) and they were talking and my boyfriend was literally begging him to send naked pictures, and the guy did. i confronted my boyfriend about it and he immediately started crying and sobbing and hyperventilating and apologizing. (before someone tries to tell me he was faking, he wasn't. trust me i can tell the difference and this was totally real.) he told me that he still loves me and he still wants to be with me and that the only reason that had ever happened was because he used to have a crush on this guy (before we met) and whenever he saw the opportunity to get pictures out of him, he wasn't thinking and he just did it. i understand what he means, the thrill of a straight guy sending you pictures, but honestly i feel like if he loved me as much as he said he did then, he wouldn't have even thought about it. one of the good things i guess you could say is that my boyfriend has no way to contact the guy again and there's no way they'll see each other at school.

anyway this incident happened about a month ago and i found out last night. we talked it over and he is genuinely sorry and i believe that, but i just know i'm going to have trouble trusting him from now on. i told him i still love him and want to be with him, but it'll take some time before i can really trust him again. i don't really know what i'm asking for here, i guess i'm just saying could someone provide some sort of insight as to what they would've done in this situation? am i right for staying with him? what will help get our relationship back to normal? what should i do? any help or advice is appreciated, thanks.
