bulge in swimming

I'm in the school swimming team and when I look at my friends they all have a bulge. We wear jammers (tight fitting swim trunks) but I don't really have one. I'm 15 and 3,5 inches soft and I was wondering if maybe it was because I am small or is it that they just have it positioned differently?
