My family is psychopathic.

So, let me set some back story for you. I needed to borrow the family computer (mine is broken) for 15 minutes to check a school e-mail. I express my need to use the family computer to my sister, who responds in a bitchy, backhanded "Well, I'm using it, and you're reason isn't good enough. Ask again in 2 days." We have a 'discussion' about this, which is basically her making bitchy comments about how important her work is, and if I "did better in school" I might be able to. She makes other judgemental and rude comments, and I eventually end up calling her a brat.

Then, my mother gets involved, she is shocked and appalled at how rude I've been to my sister over the last 10 minutes (my mother is always deaf to anything my sister says). I explain the reason of the argument calmly to my mother, and I get back something along the lines of "Well, it's my computer (not true), and your opinion means dirt to me."

I try and argue my point calmly and carefully, walking on eggshells in case I set off the 'don't be so rude to your poor mother' speech. Eventually, I say something so wrong in my mother's eyes that it gets taken as me 'raising my voice', well, that's what I heard over my mother's raised voice. I get shouted at, threatened, and verbally abused by my mother, and I retreat to my room.

My dad comes back and sides with my mother (well, it was based on a load of crap from my mother), I get threatened by him, he shouts at me for breaking my computer in the first place (which was actually broken by my dad's failure to renew the antivirus), I get told how ungrateful I am and I eventually give up.

My sister's still on the family computer doing 'important work', by the way.
